Honoring a Social Reformer: A Tribute to Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar

Today, Wednesday, August 13, 2025, Trimurti Arts, Commerce, and Science College, Trimurtinagar, under the Trimurti Pawan Pratishthan, observed the Punyatithi (death anniversary) of the revered Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar. The program was organized to pay humble tribute to this great queen of Maharashtra who dedicated her life to women’s empowerment and social welfare.
Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar was born in the village of Chaundi, located in the Jamkhed taluka of Ahmednagar district, Maharashtra. Throughout her life, she worked tirelessly for social justice and the upliftment of women. It is a testament to her vision that even during a time when girls were not allowed to attend school, her father taught her to read and write. She was a true pioneer who contributed significantly to fostering religious tolerance and promoting harmony among various communities.
The event was attended by a host of faculty members, including Prof. Khedkar Sir, Head of the Arts Faculty, along with Prof. Aniket Arasule Sir, Prof. Bhavar Sir, Prof. Borude Sir, Prof. Avare Sir, Prof. Palhare Sir, Prof. Aragade Sir, Prof. Devtarse Sir, Prof. Sukalkar Sir, Prof. Vairagar Sir, Prof. Gund Sir, Prof. Darandale Sir, Vice Principal Barge Madam, and Prof. Navthar Madam, Prof. Dhakifale Madam, Prof. Wanjare Madam, Prof. Thorat Madam, Prof. Misal Madam, Prof. Gaikwad Madam, Prof. Auti Madam, Prof. Devkar Madam, Prof. Jadhav Madam, Prof. More Madam, Prof. Kolhe Madam, and Prof. Kakade Madam. A large number of students were also present, joining the faculty in offering a solemn salute to Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar.
Just as Ahilyabai Holkar provided a clear direction to society, today’s college faculty guide students in shaping their future. The program conveyed a clear message for students to draw inspiration from her life and make a positive contribution to society. A humble tribute was paid to the memory of the great Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar.
